*** Ofsted update 2026 *** We were inspected under Section 5 in February 2026 *** Report will be shared and uploaded when finalised approx. 30 days from inspection ***
We know families want a clear picture of our journey. Although our school has since re‑opened within a multi‑academy trust and now has a new Unique Reference Number (URN), we’re sharing the most recent Ofsted report from the predecessor school because it shows the improvement trajectory the community has been working towards (moving from Inadequate at the previous visit to Requires improvement, and the school no longer needing special measures).
When a school becomes a new academy with a new URN, Ofsted treats it as a new school for inspection purposes. That means the predecessor school’s judgements don’t transfer to the new school’s page; Ofsted will schedule a first inspection of the new academy in due course, typically within its first three years.
You also won’t see an Ofsted rating on our Get Information About Schools (GIAS) entry, because the predecessor report is attached to the former school, and since late 2024, GIAS no longer displays Ofsted ratings fields - it simply links out to Ofsted reports.
What does our predecessor report say about our school?
- A welcoming, inclusive community. Pupils are polite, play happily together, and look out for one another. Children say that “everyone gets included.”
- Strong inclusion for pupils with additional needs. The school includes a specialist resource base for speech, language and communication needs, and pupils with SEND are fully involved in school life; staff adapt learning so all children can succeed.
- Reading is a clear priority. Phonics starts straight away in Reception, staff use assessment well, many pupils are catching up quickly, and older pupils speak enthusiastically about books and enjoy reading at home.
- Improving behaviour and a safe culture. A consistently applied behaviour policy is reducing interruptions to learning; bullying is not an issue, pupils feel safe, and they know adults will help with any worries.
- Personal development with real depth. Pupils discuss equality and race thoughtfully and feel confident to challenge discrimination, learning to treat everyone with respect.
- Effective safeguarding. Staff are well‑trained to spot and report concerns; pupils know who to talk to, and governors understand and fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities.
- Determined leadership and supportive governance. Leaders raised expectations; governors both challenge and support leaders and are considerate of staff workload.
Ofsted judged the predecessor school Inadequate at its earlier inspection, but this later report shows clear improvement to Requires improvement and confirms the school no longer required special measures; a direction of travel we’re proud to keep building on as a new academy within our trust.
