The Burrow is a pastoral resource unique to Christ the King. It is a safe place where children can find a safe place to have their wellbeing needs met in a variety of ways: for some this may be through emotional support, individual or group sessions or simply a calm place to start the school day.
The Burrow is underpinned by the latest research into the 'Thrive Approach' is informed by 4 key 'pillars' of child development:
- Attachment theory
- Child development theory
- Neuroscience
- Play, creativity and the arts
The Thrive approach is a dynamic, development and trauma-sensitive approach to meeting the emotional and social needs of children and young people. It is proven to improve attendance, behaviour and learning outcomes. You can find out more about the Thrive Approach on their website here.
