Let the love of God shine through us by smiling and being gentle

Welcome to Hazel Class!

Our learning this term - Term 5:

All about dragons!

Our learning this term starts with a daring dragon focus! Inspired by the book "The Dragon Machine" we are helping the main character, George, find a solution for all the pesky dragons he finds in the world around him.  Our English learning will be filled with descriptions of dragons as well as some instructions to help George create a dragon machine.

Whilst exploring the book, we will think about the 'dragons' we all have in our lives and how George's dragons remind us of some of the times we find the day a bit tricky or feel like a dragon is inside of us. Talking about this will help us to think about some of the ways we can keep our own 'inside dragons' calm and happy, as well as solutions for the days when our inside dragons roar out fiery flames, making particular links to our school values of love and forgiveness

Of course, it wouldn't be much of a dragon theme without exploring the ultimate dragon hunter himself: St. George!  As St. George's Day falls during this term we will look at some of the most famous artworks depicting St. George's fabled victory and creating our own masterpieces too!
